#myartcoustic with Britt Bonnesen X Normann CPH

Artcoustic: What is your role at Normann Copenhagen?

Britt: I am the brand manager at Normann Copenhagen. My team and I are responsible for all content for our brand as well as PR, communication, and marketing. I also work closely with our design studio in terms of launching new products and expanding our collection. Additionally, I am responsible for everything that relates to colours such as choosing new colours for our products.

Artcoustic: What made you want to work with interior and design?

Britt: Ever since I was a child, I have loved being creative. I have always been fond of immersing myself in a concept and being attentive to details. So, I guess it comes down to the possibility of working with a combination of design, different spaces, materials, colors, artworks, graphic design, and concept development, all at the same time.

I feel very fortunate every day when I walk into our new headquarters – to be able to work with my passion every day is such a privilege.

Artcoustic: What influences you?

Britt: That’s a difficult question to answer in a simple way since I am exposed to so many different things that make impression on me every day. Since I’m a very visual person, design, fashion, interior, art, colors, flowers, etc. mean a lot to me.

Artcoustic: What is “quality of life” to you?

Britt: To spend time with my family, friends, and talented, inspiring coworkers.

Artcoustic: You are married to Jan, one of the co-owners of Normann Copenhagen. For you, as a couple and a family, how is music/sound important in your life?

Britt: There is constantly music in our home. With an 18-year-old girl in the house, we operate in many different musical genres. Often we will have different pieces of music playing at the same time. We’re good at listening to each other’s music and finding inspiration from one another. Most of the time we listen to pop, R&B, dance, funk, and hip-hop. I have begun listening more and more to classical music, but Jan and our daughter don’t really share that interest, so that’s mainly when I’m home alone. And then I won’t hesitate to turn up the volume!

Artcoustic: What is your favourite piece of music?

Britt: I have a few different favorites:

Ludovico Einaudi: Fly

Prince: When doves cry

Bruno Mars: 24K magic album

Artcoustic: What is it about our loudspeakers that made you choose Artcoustic for Normann Copenhagen’s new flagship store in Copenhagen?

Britt: Artcoustic’s loudspeakers combine design, and sound in a product that is of the highest quality. To be honest, I’m not that fond of visible, technical elements in an interior setting. To me, technology such as sound is a functional feature, albeit an important one.

But I do prefer it to be as invisible in the interior as possible. Artcoustic’s possibility to customise the colours of the speakers to the specific room is very unique. We have chosen Artcoustic loudspeakers in colours that match the walls in each room, making them blend seamlessly into their surroundings, which was an essential factor for us. We are also very pleased with the extremely high quality of the sound, which is paramount when creating an inviting showroom experience.

Artcoustic: What made you choose Artcoustic for your new home?

Britt: The way Artcoustic speakers perfectly unite high-quality sound with an aesthetic design is just what we were looking for when renovating our new home. As a family, sound plays an important role in our lives. We enjoy listening to music and watching movies, and the experience just isn’t the same if the speakers are low-quality. At the same time, we’re very specific about which interior elements we like in our house. Since Artcoustic offers speakers that beautifully integrate with the surrounding interior, Artcoustic speakers were the perfect choice for our new home.
