Installation of the month | February 2023 | Modus Vivendi

CONGRATULATIONS TO LUKE AND THE TEAM AT MODUS VIVENDI FOR THIS MONTH'S INSTALLATION.

The client was looking to convert an unused wine cellar into a high performing dedicated cinema room for the whole family to enjoy. With a completely bare room as a starting point, the team at Modus Vivendi were able to completely customise every aspect of the 9.4.4 Dolby Atmos surround sound system within the space.

Modus Vivendi
Artcoustic

Artcoustic offers a comprehensive and flexible range of loudspeakers to ensure the correct set-up can be specified for the correct application, so using Artcoustic for this project provided the best solution for value of money.

The client was introduced to the products through a demonstration at an Artcoustic showroom, allowing them to gain a better understanding of the level of performance and design aesthetic offered, to suit their taste.

The client was unsure of how they wanted the room to look so the team at Modus Vivendi produced a full render design to show the end result. Bespoke artwork was also commissioned and created, based on the client's favourite movie posters.

TECHNICAL DESIGN & SUPPORT

Our specialist software helps to predict the acoustic properties of the room, ensuring that the subwoofer placement works in practice. Cancellations with nulls in bass can destroy the experience, and prove almost impossible to correct with EQ. Taking care of this at the design stage create integrity and credibility very early in the process with the client, and always results in a better result at the calibration end.

Knowledge of the loudspeakers dispersion characteristics is also a vital part of the design process, ensuring the audio is focussed on the audience, with minimal room interaction. We have detailed polar responses available for all models, helping us to recommend the right product for the right application.
